“Immobile DeVices is about our relationship with our phones and how easily scrolling turns into habit, and habit turns into dependency.

With each scroll we take a chance on the dopamine slot machine, representing that constant chase for the next hit. We’re not addicted tho..are we? The screen becomes a loop of distractions, while the clock has no hands to show how time disappears when we’re locked in. The horns and alarm reflect how our devices are built to grab attention, and the camera reminds us that while we’re watching our phones, they’re watching us too.

The gold chain is plugged into the power port and connected to us at the same time. It represents how we pay top dollar for these devices and stay tethered to them, sometimes even feeling drained when the phone dies and refreshed when it’s fully charged.

This piece is meant to be a visual wake-up call. A reminder to put the phone down a bit more, be present, and reconnect with real life.
